Just Teachers

You know what good teachers do? Well, yes, they teach, of course, but there’s more to it than that! They see the world-changing potential within their students and deciate all their time and effort into drawing it out as well as refining it. To our beloved protagonists, a skilled mentor offers valuable guidance and relevant tutelage to their respective journeys, helping them to grow and inspiring us to grow in turn. In honor of them, here’s a list of some of our favorite fictional teachers (in no particular order).

Just Wizards

Wizards, sorcerers, magicians, they’re all able to pull off amazing, supernatural feats with their words and their wands, like passing you that last slice of pizza from across the room without having to get up. But sometimes, the true magic behind a good magical character isn’t what they can do, but how and why they do it, putting us all under a spell that keeps them in our hearts and minds forever. Just Musical Numbers

It’s always wonderful when the characters that you love break into song. It provides a glimpse into their deeper emotions, and it gives you something catchy to sing along with. Here (as always, incomplete and unranked) are some of our favorite moments of musicality from TV, movies, musicals, etc.

The More Things Change

Art has a habit of changing, a lot. Art made today is certainly different than art made 100 years ago, and it’s never too hard to find avant-garde artists seeking to further push its limits with creative trailblazing. Despite the radical exploration in every direction, some of the new paths art has taken seem a little, well, familiar, like taking the left turn at Albuquerque only to wind up in Albuquerque again. Throughout history, art has pursued a particular trend for a while only to gradually swing like a pendulum towards something different, if not completely opposite, and eventually arrives at a place similar to where it started before continuing again.

After investing so much time and energy into watching an entire run of a TV show, its finale can  be heart-breaking, life-changing, fury-inducing, or all of the above.
